Portraits of some Seconds2Real members
I met fellow Seconds2Real photographers Ronny Künniger, Elisabeth Schuh, Siegfried Hansen and Kay von Aspern in Berlin recently and did some spontaneous portraits. All images are done with my Plaubel Makina 67 (Tri-X@400/XTOL).

The Leica M9, perfect street camera?
Nick Turpin summarizes his Street Photography experience using the Leica M9 in his latest blog post.
Leica M6 CLA
I am about to send my workhorse, the Leica M6, for a CLA to Fotomechanik Reinhardt in Hannover. The last CLA (clean lube adjust) is almost 8 years ago and i have the feeling that the exposure times are not as accurate as they used to be. The bottom cover is also a little loose, hopefully this can be fixed too.

Apple iPhoto calendar service
I received two calendars today i produced using Apple’s iPhoto service. The quality is truly outstanding, i am more than happy. The Apple calendars are quite expensive (about 18 EURO each) but absolutely worth the money. BTW, at least if you order from Germany the calendars are print in Czech.

Photographers protest over UK terror search laws
“Professional and amateur photographers have gathered in London’s Trafalgar Square to protest against terror stop and searches.” (story; photo by Michael Perrin, from the BBC’s website)

Leica Motor M
Saw a low priced Leica Motor in a shop window yesterday and couldn’t resist. Compared to the Leica winder it’s almost inaudible (but still louder than the Hexar). Not sure whether i will keep it or not.
pictures from last weekend
The pictures below are from last weekend. I am still happy with the “old” Tri-X/XTOL look but for what reasons ever, i can’t get the M9 out of my head.

from the archive
Due to bad weather here in Berlin there was almost no chance of taking any new pictures. Instead i browsed my archives from 2007 & 2008 where i found some pictures i didn’t post so far. Hope you like them.

I am giving Twitter a second chance. My Tweets can be found here. Will try to post something worth reading from time to time.
in search of the ‘tri-x look’
I am currently experimenting with bw conversion tools for pictures taken with the D700. So far i like the results i get from ‘Alien Skin’ the most. (Though i still think it’s a bit weird to use cameras and software worth a few thousands euros, to simulate a look i get from a simple roll of Tri-X without any further effort.)
